Shift Uses Lockouts

Select this option if you want to restrict the employees from punching In too early or Out too late at the clock. Additional settings will appear when this option is selected.

Lockout zones allow you to define when punches are accepted at the clock for the selected shift. Lockout zones restrict the employees from Punching In too early or Out too late at the clock. Lockout zones are not supported by all clocks. The TS100, PC60, FR700 and FR650 clocks do not support lockout zones. Please Note: Lockouts can only be set up if the shift has a fixed start and fixed end, lockouts cannot be set up for a flexible shift.

• Lockout any punches before - Enter the time when punches will start being accepted at the clock. Punches before this time will be rejected and the registration will not be recorded.
• Lockout any punches after - Enter the time when punches will be stop being accepted at the clock. Punches after this time will be rejected and the registration will not be recorded.

Examples of Lockout Zones

Lockout any punches before - This setting will restrict any punches at the clock prior to the defined time.

The shift's In Time or start is set to 8:00 AM.

The shift's Arrive Early or In Revision zone is set to 7:55 AM.

The shift's Lockout Any Punches Before is set to 7:55 AM.

Tom punches at 7:45 AM.

The punch is rejected and is not recorded. Tom will have to wait until 7:55 AM or later in order for the punch to be accepted and recorded.

 

Lockout any punches after - This setting will restrict any punches at the clock after the time defined.

The shift's Out Time or end is set to 5:00 PM.

The shift's Leave Late or Out Revision zone is set to 5:10 PM.

Tom punches Out at 5:20 PM.

The punch is rejected and is not recorded. Tom should have punched Out before 5:10 PM in order for the punch to be accepted and recorded.
